The Capitol Hill Restoration Society is one of the oldest civic organizations in the District. They were ready for an update to their logo and brand that felt more modern, but still evoked the architectural feel of the Capitol Hill neighborhood. The streamlined logo combines elements of block and traditional letterforms, with a centered "brick and mortar" layout in a warm brick red. For their membership brochure, drawings from the Historic Building Survey (the basis of their previous logo) have been colored and repurposed, along with neighborhood photos and the famous L'Enfant map of the city, to create a design that is warm and inviting and provides a sense of place and history. These elements are included across print and digital uses to create a cohesive visual brand.
